It was a welcome challenge for architect Ernst Hiesmayr to create a building for the university of law in the narrow context of Vienna’s first district: The Juridicum became one of the signature buildings of the 80-ies. Its innovative metal/glass construct created a very special atmosphere of lightness. The modern building is integrating very well and reflecting the surrounding houses of previous centuries in a pleasant blue. Ernst Hiesmayr invited Leo and Gretl Wollner as advisors for the colour scheme and the creation of an art object on the top floor of the building. For fire safety reasons textile objects were not allowed - so the Wollners decided to create a glass cloud and a glass wave fitting to the blue paint of the metal columns.
