leo und gretl wollner textile exhibition MAK - Museum of Applied Arts Vienna - 1959

The young textile designers introduced their textile creations - curtains printed or woven, unique handwoven carpets in the museum neighbouring to the Academy of Applied Arts where they studied a few years ago under Prof. Wimmer Wisgrill and Prof J. Hoffmann.

Their atelier / showroom was not very distant as well - about 5 minutes walking distance in the city center of Vienna where they had a space for their design work and looms to weave their unique carpets or create their handwoven curtains and fabrics. Professional weavers who still existed in Vienna in the 50-ies and 60-ies would produce the collections for the Wollner shop/showroom.
